tribute to my event of the yr, the spse dinner & dance 2006!!

tis event although lasting only one night had nearly 20 people busy for a grand period of 6 mth. although it wasn't a huge, smashing bash, i tink by far, it can be considered a success. HIP HIP HOORAY. ^^

phew, i suddenly feel relieved. hahaha..
so in tribute to all our efforts, tis is the timeline of my journey towards 16th dec 2006.

mths before
- we were still in our 3 seperate teams bidding to win tis final proposal.
- weekly meetings with carolyn, lifang n jeremy.
- we were relaxed though pressed for time.
- late nights were spent choosing appropriate songs.
- even dreams were that of games n activities.
- we had ambitious plans. a whole lot of them.
- beautiful but unachievable fantasies.

wks before
- was put in-charge of deco with jessica.
- time not to mention bus fares were spent shuttling between places.
- comparing prices, getting quotes, bargaining, etc..
- decoration, the first impression.
- wat we believed to be the most impt. the ambience. the atmosphere. the mood.
- settled on a royal purple n grand sliver theme. aft much deliberation.
- romance was set afire with rose petals n tealight candles.
- balloons n ribbons were a must.

days before
- tension was at all time high. nothing seemed to be going right.
- problems aft problems. never-ending workloads.
- aft meeting celebrations turned into rushed dinners in sch.
- everyone sacrificed sleep, sch wrk n fun to make our baby a success.
- more trouble was at hand. daunting tasks lay ahead.
- the deco team found themselves suddenly obliged to plan another bash.
- mr francis hong's party the night before.
- a mad rush to get more supplies, skipping of lessons n staying late.
- things were thankfully resolved on the v last day.
- sponsorships, funding n answers poured in..

i will always rmbr
the night of 12th dec. jessica, darren, thaim hee, tian hock n i stayed back really late to make sure the signboards were done. the comforting feeling tt we were all in tis together. despite not being involved, the guys stayed behind, slaving over their drawings, wrestling with the penknife n styrofoam boards.

the laughter, the gossips, the camp-like dinner, the closed 7-eleven, the electricity shortage, the cleaning up of styrofoam bits (with sticky tape). although we were all hanging on, desperately trying to stay awake with the field all dark n eerie, we survived n sorta had fun. furthermore, we didn't get locked in the clubhouse even as the time neared midnight. so the opening hrs is FAKE! =P

i will also rmbr all the nights though i returned late, my maid wld ensure tt there will always be a bowl of hot soup waiting. n daddy who wld drop everything just to be at tamp in time to pick his daughter hm. n mommy who wld stay up just to say gd night n tuck me into bed.

its times like tis when u feel like giving up tt make u choose to hold on. its the warmth n the love i got at hm n in sch tt kept me running. so although many a times i felt like calling it quits - i'm sure we all felt like giving up at some pt or another - we stuck by our commitments n responsiblity. which was wat made last sat's event possible.

the day
- morn was still spent sourcing for more balloons n tinsel.
- hustle n bustle amidst a slight drizzle.
- the hr spent in the toilet prior to the event.
- the make-up, the hair, the dress, the perspiration..
- the sitting arrangement
- (anna, serkee, jess, darren, terrence, weicong, lixian, liying, me, trixie n alisa)
- the food serving, the whistle-blowing, the light sticks, the smoke, the music..
- my 2nd prom. =D
- his on-stage confession. *touched*
- the bended knees, the sunflowers.. aww, shucks..
- post party celebration at starbucks plaza sing.
- slacked around till nearly 2am before taking NR7 hm.
- luckily mommy didn't notice i burst curfew. hehe..

i'm a tired but happy girl.


now, i gotta go meddle with my stocks. I WANNA WIN. hahahaha.. pics when i get back frm japan. love u all. thanks for everything. =)
